ABOUT OUR ROLE: We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced In-House Counsel to join our legal team and support the business with sound legal advice, strategic guidance, and hands-on execution. The ideal candidate will work cross-functionally to identify legal risks and implement smart, pragmatic solutions that align with our commercial objectives while ensuring compliance with all relevant laws and regulations. Key responsibilities: * Provide legal advice and support on a wide range of matters including contracts, employment, intellectual property, corporate governance, regulatory compliance, and risk management. * Draft, review, and negotiate various commercial agreements (NDAs, MSAs, SaaS agreements, vendor agreements, partnership deals, DPAs, etc.). * Manage and mitigate legal risks by designing and implementing company policies and procedures. * Support internal stakeholders such as Sales, Marketing, HR, Product, and Operations teams with timely legal counsel. * Ensure compliance with local, state, federal, and international laws and regulations. * Coordinate with outside counsel when specialized expertise is required (e.g., litigation, M&A, IP matters). * Maintain corporate records, ensure proper business registrations and filings, and manage corporate governance documentation. * Support data privacy and security initiatives and ensure GDPR, CCPA, and other regulatory compliance as applicable. * Help manage and resolve disputes, pre-litigation claims, and legal proceedings. * Stay up-to-date on legal trends and regulatory changes that may impact the business. Qualifications: * Juris Doctor (JD) degree from an accredited law school. * Active membership in good standing with at least one U.S. state bar. * 3+ years of relevant legal experience, including experience in a law firm and/or in-house corporate legal department. * Experience negotiating commercial contracts, particularly in the tech/SaaS or regulated industries (e.g., healthcare, finance, etc.). * Strong analytical, problem-solving, and interpersonal communication skills. * Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced, high-growth environment. * Practical business judgment and the ability to balance legal risks with commercial realities. * Knowledge of California law as the as the governing law based on company headquarters Preferred qualifications: * Experience with international legal issues, particularly in data privacy, employment law, or commercial transactions. * Background in a regulated industry or prior work in a tech company. * Familiarity with startup, venture-backed, or high-growth environments.
