Additional information about the company can be found online at www.bwpipelines.com . We are currently looking for an Attorney for our Houston, TX office. POSITION DESCRIPTION: Boardwalk Pipelines, LP, a natural gas and midstream pipeline transportation and storage company, seeks to add an attorney to their legal team. The position is in Houston, Texas. The ideal candidate will have three to seven years of experience, must be interested in generalist responsibilities, have strong communication skills, and be able to work well with others in a collaborative environment. The position will support the General Counsel and other senior attorneys in a wide variety of matters, including reviewing, drafting, and negotiating contracts and handling legal matters involving compliance, regulations, policies, governance, and other areas. Candidates will interface with senior level business leaders and collaborate with multiple departments, including Operations, Engineering & Construction, Land, Environmental, Information Technology, Procurement, Regulatory, Commercial, and Human Resources. Provide comprehensive legal support to in-house clients in Boardwalk’s Operations, Engineering & Construction, Land, Environmental, Information Technology, Procurement, Regulatory, Commercial, and Human Resources Departments. Research, review, interpret, draft, and negotiate legal documents, including service agreements, scopes of work, confidentiality agreements, guarantees, purchase orders, land documents, commercial contracts, construction agreements, and software agreements. Provide accurate, relevant, and timely legal advice and training to Boardwalk personnel on a variety of legal topics. Monitor and advise management and project teams of legal developments and trends, including changes in law, regulatory developments, and judicial decisions impacting the natural gas and midstream industry. Collaborate with peer attorneys and other support professionals to accomplish job responsibilities. Partner with outside counsel to manage litigation and other dispute resolution processes. Manage and mitigate legal risks by designing and implementing company policies and procedures. Ensure compliance with all laws and regulations that apply to the business. Promote legal, compliance, and risk management best practice throughout the company.` REQUIRED SKILLS, KNOWLEDGE AND EXPERIENCE: Licensed to practice law in Texas and in good standing Three to seven years of legal practice Top 25% of law school class Self-driven Good interpersonal skills Intellectually curious Exceptional communicator PREFERRED SKILLS, KNOWLEDGE, AND EXPERIENCE: Familiarity with the natural gas/midstream sector helpful but not required REQUIRED EDUCATION JD from an accredited law school with ranking in the top 25% of the class ADDITIONAL INFORMATION: Boardwalk Pipelines, LP maintains a drug-free workplace and will require pre-employment drug & substance abuse testing before hire.
