Legal Operations ParalegalReports to: General CounselMPRBrands - Del Mar, CARole SummaryThis role sits at the center of the legal department’s day-to-day operations, owning intake, workflow management, and administrative execution across franchise, contracts, compliance, and litigation support. The position is designed to maximize attorney efficiency, reduce outside counsel spend, and ensure nothing falls through the cracks in a fast-moving, multi-brand environment.Core Responsibilities:Legal Intake & Workflow ManagementServe as the first point of contact for all legal requests across the organizationManage and administer the legal matter system :Intake routingMatter creation and trackingTask assignments and deadlinesRunning reports and deadline managementTriage requests based on urgency, risk, and business impactEnsure business needs are met and follow up with stakeholders proactivelyIdentify repeat request patterns and recommend workflow standardizationContract Lifecycle Management (CLM Support)Administer the end-to-end contract process, including:Intake and request clarificationTemplate selection and populationVersion control and document managementSignature coordination (e.g., DocuSign)Maintain and organize the contract repositoryTrack key terms, renewal dates, and termination windowsFlag non-standard terms or risk issues to attorneysSupport development and rollout of template agreements and playbooksFranchise & Regulatory SupportAssist with FDD updates and annual renewals:Track deadlines and required inputsCompile exhibits and supporting documentation as neededMaintain compliance calendars across all jurisdictionsTrack franchise agreements, amendments, and franchisee documentationSupport franchise disclosure processes and document distribution trackingIntellectual Property AdministrationMaintain trademark portfolio tracker across all brands:Filing deadlinesRenewalsOffice action trackingCoordinate with outside counsel on filings and enforcement mattersTrack licensing agreements and usage rightsMonitor for potential infringement issues and escalate as neededLitigation & Outside Counsel Management SupportMaintain a centralized litigation tracker detailing case status, key deadlines, budget trackingCoordinate document collection and internal information gatheringManage legal hold processes and document preservationReview and process outside counsel invoices as neededCompliance & Risk ManagementMaintain and track compliance obligations, including:CCPA/privacy requirementsCorporate filingsRegulatory deadlinesSupport implementation of policies and training programsAssist with internal audits and compliance reviewsReporting & Legal Operations OptimizationMaintain reporting for:Contract volume and cycle timesLegal request trendsOutside counsel spendIdentify inefficienciesSupport implementation of automation tools and legal techDrive standardization across legal workflowsGeneral Legal & Administrative SupportPrepare basic legal documents and correspondenceMaintain organized digital and physical legal filesSupport board and executive meeting materials as neededAssist with special projects, including M&A diligence supportQualifications:Required2+ years of experience as a paralegal or legal operations professionalStrong familiarity with:Contract management processesLegal document handling and organizationHigh proficiency with systems (e.g., LawVu, Ironclad, DocuSign, Excel)PreferredExperience with franchise systems or multi-unit businessesExposure to IP management (trademarks)Experience supporting in-house legal teamsExperience with legal billing and outside counsel coordinationFamiliarity with privacy/compliance tracking frameworksCore Competencies:Operational rigor: highly organized, detail-oriented, process-drivenPrioritization: ability to triage competing requests effectivelySystems mindset: comfortable building and improving workflowsCommunication: clear, concise, and responsive across all levelsOwnership mentality: proactively identifies issues and closes loopsWork Environment:Hybrid role with an average of three in-office days per week Collaborative team environment with both in-person and remote work ;Compensation: ;Base Salary ($90k-$110k based on experience) + Bonus (5-10%) ;Benefits:Medical (79-94% paid options by MPRB), Dental, Vision, STD, LTD, AD&D, and LifeVacation, Holiday, & Sick Pay401K (competitive company match) View More Arrow
