The US Postal Service Office of Inspector General, an independent agency within the Postal Service, employs over 1,000 auditors, criminal investigators, and professional support personnel stationed in over ninety locations. The OIG plays a key role in maintaining the integrity and accountability of America's postal service, its revenue and assets, and its employees. The OIG is focused on understanding and utilizing data to develop processes, tools, and products to help identify fraud, waste, and abuse. Additionally, we make data-driven decisions using key performance indicators and metrics to produce innovative approaches to improve processes, increase visibility in oversight activities, and gain insights into emerging risks and trends.
