Southwest Value Partners (SWVP) ( https://swvp.com/ ), a privately held real estate investment company, is seeking a talented Commercial Real Estate Paralegal to join its team. SWVP invests in institutional quality real estate in growth markets throughout the United States. SWVP has a disciplined and high energy approach to asset acquisition, operating execution, value creation, asset disposition, and development. OVERVIEW The Paralegal will assist in executing commercial real estate transactions including acquisitions, dispositions, and financing transactions, and participate in related due diligence such as document drafting and review, research, coordination, and follow up. The Paralegal will ensure quality work is delivered in a timely and professional manner, and will possess the ability to communicate effectively with both internal personnel and external third parties. The environment at SWVP is fast-paced and dynamic, and the Paralegal will need to work well both independently and in a group setting. The Paralegal will report to the Chief Compliance Officer and work closely with the legal team. Travel - The position will require travel to the San Diego office for a two-week training period. DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES * Review, process, and collaborate on amendments, contracts, and similar agreements affecting property title and property access. * Review, process, and collaborate on amendments, contracts, and similar agreements affecting the operations of the properties and management company. * Participate in the management of the title and survey process from commencement to completion, including title and survey review, preparation of title summaries, and title objection letters. * Participate in closing tasks by working with the title company to identify closing issues, assisting with document preparation, and coordinating with the title company and other third parties. * Participate in legal research and investigation. * Participate in compliance management as needed. QUALIFICATIONS * Minimum of 5 years commercial real estate paralegal experience. * Paralegal Certificate from an ABA approved school (or otherwise meet the requirements of AB1761). * Bachelor’s degree preferred. * Proficient in reviewing title and survey matters. * Proficient with MS Office. * Proven ability to maintain confidentiality with sensitive information. * Self-motivated, detail-oriented, accurate, reliable, and flexible. * Ability to work independently with minimal direction. * Strong verbal and written communication skills. * Excellent organization and administrative skills. * Ability to handle a large volume of work, effectively work under pressure, and meet deadlines. * Ability to work well with diverse business individuals within the company. * Ability to work efficiently and interface confidently with people outside the company, including attorneys.
