The Texas Comptroller of Public Accounts (CPA) is a state government agency that makes a daily impact on the people and business of Texas. We serve as Texas' fiscal watchdog, accountant, tax collector and treasurer. We estimate state revenue and invest state dollars. Our office oversees other programs too. We administer college savings plans, promote energy efficiency and protecting Texas' natural resources. We help local communities and industry efficiently work with requirements of the federal Endangered Species Act. Our headquarters are located within walking distance of the Capitol in downtown Austin, and we have offices in 54 locations throughout Texas and the nation.
